Welcome! I’m Coach Chris Knighton

I am a competitive masters runner and co-owner of Knighton Runs Coaching, based in Providence, Rhode Island. My private running lessons help passionate adults in Rhode Island reach their full distance running potential.

I’ve been coaching since 2019 at the adult, high school, and youth levels. I’m the author of the book, Run Faster Marathons: The Proven Path to PR and the upcoming book, Ageless Track Star: How to Become a Master’s Track Runner in Your 30’s, 40’s, or 50’s.

I’ve helped countless athletes get faster and become more confident in their running than ever before.

Whether it is by helping them run their first half, full marathon, or qualify for the Boston Marathon, my private lessons help passionate adults throughout Rhode Island become the high-performing athlete they’ve always wanted to be.

Who are these Private Running Lessons for?

My private running lessons are perfect for adults of any age who want to ensure they are doing things the right way.

I regularly work with men and women in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50s, and above.

Private running lessons are available year-round and are incredibly helpful with:

  • improving your running form and coordination
  • learning how to perform track and speed workouts properly
  • incorporating strength and mobility training into your routine
  • ensuring you are doing things “the right way” as you age

Private Running Lessons with Coach Chris include:

  • Coach Chris will meet with you for a private running lesson. You can bring a friend or two at no extra charge.

  • Private running lessons are available 7-days per week and year-round with advanced scheduling.

  • Meet in a great and safe running location in Providence, Rhode Island or within a 30-minute drive
    (further driving time available for an added fee.)

  • You will learn how to run the right way, including important developmental skills like:

    – improving your running form and coordination.

    – improving your running speed, strength, and endurance.

    – improving your ability to pace yourself and implement race strategies.

    – improving your mental skills of focus, perspective, and dedication.

  • Each 60-minute session will be custom-tailored to your needs but typically includes:

    • Full Dynamic Warm-Up Routine with Running Form Drills

    • Challenging and Fun Running Workout Led by Coach Chris

    • A Full Cooldown Routine with Post-Run Strength and Stretching

    • Opportunities Throughout for Coach Chris to Answer Questions and Give Advice
