Is This Marathon Training Program for You?

This training program includes multiple different options for mileage progression, so whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advance runner, you can choose the amount of mileage that is most appropriate for you.

All of the training plans in this program follow a similar trajectory and style, but are appropriately scaled to your specific mileage needs.

This ensures your long runs and workouts will be of appropriate length and intensity to keep you progressing in a sustainable way towards your marathon goal.

The first 5 weeks of this training program consist of healthy habit and routine building base mileage, followed by 13 weeks of marathon-focused speed development, endurance building, and long run workouts which culminate in your goal marathon race.

Runners should be comfortable running at least 20 miles per week before starting this program, although modifications can be made for runners starting with a smaller base of fitness. Likewise, the most advanced plan peaks at 60 miles per week but this can easily be increased for those who want to run more mileage.

Athletes with less than 18 weeks to go before their goal marathon can jump into the plan mid-way with slight modifications described in the plan documents.
